Sea Anemones | Pomegranate Puzzles Review

Today’s puzzle is a lovely 500-piece Pomegranate puzzle with vintage art by artist Ernst Haeckel. This artwork is so beautiful. I have been wanting this puzzle since I first saw it online and by luck, I ran across it at the thrift store a few weeks ago. Always love getting a puzzle on my wish list for a few bucks instead of full price!

Putting this together was relatively easy. Only a few challenging sections (the tentacle/fronds on a few of the anemones) and the main hiccup that I ran into was multiple false fits. If you watch closely at the beginning, the edge of the puzzle had some serious misplaced pieces to start and it took me a moment of really looking at it from above to work out where I had gone wrong. Otherwise, it was a pretty smooth assembly. This is my first Pomegranate Puzzle although I keep running into them at the thrift store. I love that they focus on artwork, but I frequently decide not to choose them because the art, though pretty, can make for a challenging puzzle. This artwork, however, was great! I think you can find this print on another puzzle brand as well.

My favorite Pomegranate Puzzle designs

Olga Suvorova: Melody 1000-Piece Jigsaw Puzzle – I’m such a fan of Olga’s artwork. I’ve done two of her puzzles from the Art & Fable brand here on the channel already.

Alphonse Mucha: Zodiac 1000-Piece Jigsaw Puzzle – Alphonse Mucha did those beautiful Art Nouveau paintings and illustrations in the late 1800’s and early 1900’s. Simply stunning pieces of art and luckily, they make great puzzles

If you are a fan of vintage art and puzzles, I highly recommend checking out the entire Pomegranate line. They have some really cool pieces. Just be sure to choose carefully because some artworks are harder to puzzle than they might initially seem!
