Jigsaw Puzzles for Book Lovers

Books are another passion of mine, alongside puzzles. I can get just as absorbed in a great book as I do with a challenging puzzle. If you’re a book lover wanting a jigsaw puzzle for yourself, or you’re shopping for a puzzle-loving bibliophile, I’ve compiled a list of the best jigsaw puzzles for book lovers that are on my “To Be Assembled” (TBA) list.

Galison Puzzles

Galison Phat Dog Vintage Library 1,000 Piece Foil Embellished

Isn’t this a gorgeous grouping of old books? This puzzle by Galison who is a mid-range budget puzzle manufacturer. The prices are typically lower on their puzzles but the quality is reasonably good for the price. This particular puzzle has foil embellishments on the pieces which I love because it makes the puzzle feel just a little bit more special (and makes sorting easier too!).

Galison Ideal Bookshelf 1,000 Pieces & Galison I’d Rather Be Reading 1,000 Pieces

Two more Galison puzzles that are on my list. The Ideal Bookshelf is one that I would recommend to people who are newer to puzzles. The large blocks of color that make up the books makes it easy to sort and know which pieces go where. The I’d Rather Be Reading puzzle is a gorgeous take on a gradient style puzzle as the books are sorted by color. This one could be trickier to do since it’s not a true gradient and the books themselves are similar heights. I’d chose this puzzle for the book lover who enjoys trickier puzzles!

Aimee Stewart & Buffalo Games

Aimee Stewart is a prolific jigsaw puzzle artist who is well known among the puzzling community as the creator to some of the most colorful and interesting images to puzzle. While she has created images for many puzzle brands, one of the largest collections of Aimee Stewart artwork is through Buffalo Games. Buffalo is definitely a more budget brand, so you do get a bit of what you pay for but I think they are one of the better budget brands overall.

Travel Trinkets – 1,000 piece Buffalo Games

One of the things that I like about Aimee’s artwork is that it’s incredibly colorful but also really creative and packed full of tiny details. I love how she’s incorporated the different state names onto all of the books and all of the little trinkets tucked among the shelves. I love discovering all of the little details as I put together puzzles with her artwork on them.

The Grand Fiction Library – 1,000 Pieces Buffalo Games

This puzzle is one of my favorites because I feel like it perfectly encapsulates the worlds that books open us up to. This puzzle, like all of Aimee’s artwork is colorful and detailed and would be a welcome addition to any book lover’s collection.

Laurence Publishing Literary Puzzles

The Literary puzzles from Laurence King Publishing are some of my very favorite book related puzzles. If you are a fan of Agatha Christie, Jane Austen, Charles Dickens, the Brontë Sisters or have enjoyed the world of Sherlock Holmes, Dracula, Frankenstein, Hercule Poirot or the Bridgerton Series then Laurence King Publishing has a puzzle for you! These massively detailed puzzles have elements and nods to moments from your favorite book series. I adore how many tiny (and not so tiny) Easter egg clues they hide in each puzzle scene.

I am especially excited about this upcoming release of The World of Terry Pratchett! Coming this October. That artwork looks gorgeous and I can’t wait to snag a copy for myself.

Pre-order The World of Terry Pratchett now for an October 8th release date.

Reverie Puzzles

I have to mention Reverie Puzzles in this list. This Australian brand offers some of the coolest book-related puzzles available. They collaborate with real artists and obtain licensing rights to create puzzles from some of the most popular book series today. Additionally, they have some of the cutest library and book-themed puzzles on the market. If you love Fourth Wing, A Court of Thorns and Roses, and The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue, you should definitely check out this puzzle brand.

Book Cover Puzzles

If you’re new to puzzles or unsure of the skill level of the person you’re shopping for, a book cover puzzle is a great choice. These puzzles feature compilations of book covers, making it easier to sort and place the pieces since each book is typically distinct enough that it helps guide where each piece should go.

Classic Paperbacks

This puzzle is quite a simple one with 40 of the top classic book covers. The only thing that I’d keep in mind is that I wouldn’t start with the edge on this one since it has all that white. I love all the different designs and classic styles that were used on these covers. This would be a really fun one to assemble.

Classic Cookbooks 1,000 Piece Puzzle

This is the one that I would gift to the book lover that also loves to cook! I love the gorgeous muted colors and the different patterns featured on these vintage cookbook covers.

Agatha – 1,000 Piece Puzzle

This one is perfect for fans of Agatha Christie with over 50 of her book covers featured on this puzzle. If you are a Christie fan, make sure to check out the other Agatha Christie puzzles that I’ve linked up above by the Laurence King Publishing Co.

Frederick the Literate 750 Piece Buffalo Games Puzzle

I’m wrapping up my list with one of my top to-do puzzles, Frederick the Literate. This is part of the ‘Cats of Charles Wysocki’ series, and I adore it. While Charles Wysocki is best known for his landscape puzzles, he also has a small series featuring cats, and this is one of them. His cat puzzles are rich in color, charming and feature cats being cats. I really appreciate all the little cat related titles on the books here.
