Heart Bouquet | Seltzer Goods Review

This is Heart Bouquet by Seltzer Goods which features the art of Bailey Sullivan. This is one of my favorite puzzles that I’ve put together recently. It was so nice that I actually built it twice. The first time was upstairs with my husband and son at my son’s request. and then again the following day, more formally on my desk for the above video.

This is just such successful artwork for a satisfying puzzle build. The flowers are just the right size, and the reused colors are utilized in different patterns so that it’s easy to tell where each piece belongs after sorting. The pieces hold together reasonably well, enough to move sections around without too much difficulty. The finish is smooth but not overly glossy so glare wasn’t really an issue. This was a used puzzle so I can’t speak much on dust level as if it had any, it wasn’t apparent by the time that I received it. Based on the fact that the piece material is pressed paper, I doubt that it had any to start with. The heart shape was a fun change from your traditional puzzle shape and it made for some really interesting edge piece shapes.

In terms of difficulty, this puzzle was certainly on the easier side. There were some places which were more difficult, like the vase with its soft abstract pattern, but I found that sorting the pieces by shape made it very manageable. I left the outer edge to the end (and actually, my husband completed most of that) since it was primarily solid blue and the unique nature of the piece shapes due to the overall heart shape made it harder to tell where pieces would go. I do think that someone could do the edge first on a puzzle like this, but for me, I felt it was going to be overall easier to do at the end.

This puzzle was a quicker build and as I didn’t have too much difficulty, I thought it was the perfect candidate for my second Puzzle & Chill video. If you are unfamiliar, Puzzle & Chill is a video series that I’ve started which is a slower time-lapse format set to nice, relaxing lofi music. Rather than zipping through the time-lapse, the pace is slowed so that you can see more of the puzzling process. I love to put videos like these on when I’m puzzling, cleaning, or working because you can complete a task while someone else is doing something on screen — it’s very satisfying. I hope that you’ll find it equally as satisfying. If you watch these videos while putting together a puzzle of your own, let me know in the comments!

Normally, I like to list something that could be improved, but in the case of this puzzle I don’t really have any suggestions. They could go for a higher end material with a tighter fit but making those sort of improvements would bump the price which is currently $26.95 (from Seltzer Goods). I think given the current price, this is a satisfying enough build that doesn’t really need to be improved upon. It’s not the highest end puzzle certainly, but I think it’s great as it is.
