Ravensburger ‘Flowers’ Jigsaw Puzzle | Circle of Colors Collection Review

Today’s puzzle is from Ravensburger’s ‘Circle of Colors’ collection, a series of round puzzles featuring a rainbow of colors in the artwork. This is ‘Flowers’ which features the artwork of artist Sherry Lee. I’ve seen these around for a while but hadn’t put one together until today. As the entire series is composed of 500-piece puzzles, this didn’t take very long to complete (hence the shorter video).

Like every Ravensburger puzzle I’ve done before, the quality was solid. The pieces have a smooth finish that isn’t glossy, they hold together well enough to move small sections around, and the cardboard backer is a decent thickness, making it easy to pick up the pieces. There wasn’t much dust in this one, but I attribute that to having received it second-hand. Ravensburger puzzles are notorious for leaving piles of blue dust when you first do them, and I don’t doubt that would have been the case had I purchased this brand new.

In terms of the build, this one was fairly easy. The sorting was quick and beautiful. I loved looking at that rainbow of puzzle pieces when I finished separating them into the different colored piles. I do wish that I hadn’t built the edge around the piles at the start because it didn’t leave much room to work, and you can see that I quickly remedied that after I finished the first wedge of color. The different wedges of color had flowers with enough variety that it was generally easy to tell which piece went where. I do kind of wish there had been a little more variety among the different shades of color, but that’s more of an afterthought, and I’m not sure how that would have looked when executed.

This was a lovely little snack of a puzzle, very satisfying and fun to put together. I could see this entire series being the type of puzzle you put together over and over again, and I’m looking forward to getting more of them (especially the Donuts design!). One thing I will say is that I wish they had called this collection ‘Color Wheels’ instead of ‘Circle of Colors’. I don’t know why but every time I think of this series that is what I call them in my head. Also, ‘Flowers’ is such a generic name. I think they could have gotten a lot more creative with the naming choices of the entire collection.
